As a Ramp Agent, you are responsible for processing baggage between baggage areas in the airport facilities and aircraft, as well as receiving and dispatching aircraft.
This is a seasonal part time diversion team position.
This is a seasonal position for the Diversion Team in COS. This is an on call position working three days a week on call from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, and one day scheduled. You must be able to make it into work within 45 minutes of being called. You are guaranteed two hours of pay whether you come in or not. You will be scheduled to work one day a week to keep up all required training and to ensure continued knowledge and understanding of ramp.
Primary Job Duties:
Routinely lift baggage, boxes, or cargo weighing 40 to 60 lbs when loading/unloading aircraft, and carts
Push/pull loaded and empty carts during loading/unloading operations
Bend/stoop then crawl to move and stack/un-stack baggage in aircraft
Complete safety checklists for motorized equipment
Drive and operate motorized equipment (e.g., conveyor belt)
Read and interpret aircraft load sheets, checked baggage tags
Operate a computer to enter and retrieve data
Count baggage being uploaded/ unloaded during operations
Operate portable radio or headphones
Connect hoses to aircraft
Use signaling devices to communicate with co-workers or flight crew
Escort passengers and special needs customers safely and courteously
Ensure compliance with SkyWest and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and policies
Other duties as assigned
Must be at least 18 years old
Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain credentials necessary for the position
Position-specific clearances include but are not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs clearances required
Must be able to pass a pre-placement background check and drug screen
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- High School Diploma, GED or education equivalent required
Physical and Other Requirements
Ability to lift 60+ pounds consistently, with or without a reasonable accommodation
Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays
Must be able to work outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditions
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Must be extremely flexible to work split shifts including early mornings, afternoons, and evenings
Must be living in the area and be able to report to work within a 45 minute call out period
This is a seasonal position starting May 1, 2019 through September 15, 2019.
