The Corporate Technical Publications and Standards team is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented person to join as a specialist. The Specialist Corporate Technical Publications and Standards reports directly to the Manager Corporate Technical Publications and Standards and is responsible for formatting, converting, and the ongoing maintenance of Company operational documents owned by the following departments: Customer Service, InFlight, Flight Operations, Operational Control Center, Safety, and People.

  • Working as a member of the Corporate Technical Publications and Standards (CTPS) team to prepare and revise various SkyWest operational documents.

  • Conducting research and analysis on document interfaces to ensure consistency and accuracy across Company documents.

  • Collaborating with relevant subject matter experts (SMEs) to create a two-way understanding and transparency during the document change process.

  • Ensuring strict compliance with all CTPS publication standards with near 100% content and format accuracy.

  • Assisting in maintaining Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) compliance with manual content, currency, availability, and consistency.

  • Condensing or revising material into easily-understood text.

  • Assisting in the development and the growth of the CTPS team as a whole.

  • Attending and completing all required job-related training.

  • Other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio) and Adobe (e.g., Acrobat, Illustrator)

  • Familiar with Arbortext (Editor and ACM) or able to learn the program quickly

  • Excellent communication and editing skills

  • Strong technical skills and expertise in document modifying software

  • Motivated to learn and manage the necessary software programs

  • Exceptional understanding of the English language, including writing, grammar, vocabulary, punctuation, and proof-reading

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, or another related field (preferred)

  • Multi-tasks effectively

  • Able to work well under pressure

  • Able to focus on multiple computer screens for long periods of time
