Primary Job Duties
CRJ Ground and Matrix Instructors conduct training for New Hire, Transition, Upgrade, and Requalification pilots at the Salt Lake Training Facility.
CRJ Ground Instructors
Conduct Basic Indoctrination, Initial/Transition Ground, Differences Ground, Upgrade Ground, and Requalification Ground training.
Maintain a high level of knowledge of general subjects and CRJ-related information; to include, but not limited to, SOPM, FOM, OpsSpecs, GDPM, Weight/Balance, Performance, and Systems.
Special projects as assigned (COBU 5.0 credit)
Compensation – 6.0 credit for each ground training day (8.0 hour pre-assignment)
CRJ Matrix Instructors
Conduct ground training for First Officer and Captain SOPM procedures using our Graphical Flight Deck Simulator.
Maintain a high level of knowledge of general subjects and CRJ-related information; to include, but not limited to, SOPM, FOM, OpsSpecs, GDPM, Weight/Balance, Performance, and Systems.
Special projects as assigned (COBU 5.0 credit)
Compensation – 1.0 credit for each hour of matrix training (4.0-5.0 hour pre-assignment)
Schedule / Accommodations / Travel
Ground and Matrix Instructors are typically pre-assigned 10-15 teaching sessions a month
Pre-assignments can vary from 0-21 sessions a month
Hotels provided for instructors upon request when teaching (please ask for details during the interview)
SkyWest doesn’t currently provide positive space travel for instructors that live outside of the SLC area
Minimum Requirements
121 flight experience
Cannot be in the DMA program (conflicts with pre-assignments)
Cannot be in Special Tracking
Accept a 12 month commitment from date of qualification
Preferred Skills:
SkyWest First Officer
100+ hours CL-65 flight experience
Teaching experience
Physical and Other Requirements
Required to maintain pilot currency (pilots on leave maintain currency with Jumpseat Observations)
Pre-assignments will be scheduled prior to PBS bidding
