SkyWest Airlines Mechanic Ground Service Level II in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

Primary Job Duties

As an Automotive Ground Service Mechanic Level II, you will be responsible for maintaining SkyWest ground equipment and supporting ramp personnel to promote safety and on time arrivals/departures.

  • One year automotive/ground service equipment related experience or training

  • Ability to work nights, early morning, weekends, holidays, extended shifts and rotating shifts

  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment in inclement weather

  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, quick learner, and team player Safety and detailed oriented

  • Must be able to work independently

  • Basic Computer Skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • Must possess a valid driver license

  • Completion of 10 - 15 GSE tests assigned by management in 6 month time frame

Minimum Requirements

Basic Tool Set:

  • Standard Sockets: ¼”, 3/8”, and ½” drive with ratchets and extensions must range from ¼” to 1 1/4” deep and shallow

  • Metric Sockets: must range from 8mm - 19 mm deep and shallow

  • Standard Wrenches: standard ¼” to 1 ¼”

  • Metric Wrenches: 8mm -19 mm

  • Allen Wrenches: standard and metric

  • Screwdrivers: Phillips, Flat Head, and Torx

  • Pliers: Standard and needle nose pliers, and channel locks

  • Impact Gun and Sockets: Pneumatic 1/2” and 3/8”

  • Pry bars (variety of lengths)

  • Automotive meter (fluke) with hertz capability

  • Wire cutters, wire strippers, and wire crimpers

  • Hammer

  • Tool box and travel case

Preferred Skills:

  • ASE Certifications in brakes, steering and suspension, electrical and diesel engines

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word

  • Automotive Schooling

Physical and Other Requirements

  • Possible/minimal travel as needed-multiple day trips and overnights (Flying and Driving)

  • Must have ability to lift 60+ pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation

  • Must be 18 years or older
