SkyWest Airlines Mgr Flight Standards in ST. GEORGE, Utah
Primary Job Duties
Establish and maintain procedures, practices, and processes relating to all aspects of flight operations.
Establish and revise standard operating procedures, required flight crew information, and aircraft bulletins.
Oversee selection and training of all line check airmen.
Monitor and ensure standardization of all line check airmen through ongoing training, manual updates, information bulletins, and the Flight Standards Newsletter.
Monitor progress and direct needs of all pilots conducting FAA required line operational experience and line checks.
Interface with flight department and other departmental managers and personnel to ensure all flight standards practices and procedures are current according to the other standards practices.
Liaison with FAA on mandated aircraft and pilot procedures and practices.
Liaison with code-share partners to ensure acceptable safe and standard practices and cost saving initiatives are implemented and maintained.
Participate in industry and aircraft specific conferences, meetings, and telecoms.
Responsible for the application of Safety Risk Management, Safety Assurance, and Safety Promotion/Communication during the implementation and revision of new systems and development of operational procedures.
Maintains Safety Management System competencies/training and attends safety meetings.
Part 121 Pilot-In-Command experience
Part 121 Line Check Airman experience
Subject matter expert on flight-related publications and airline regulations
Physical and Other Requirements
Strong skills in the following:
Experienced in presenting to large audiences
Strong computer skills essential, to include:
