Primary Job Duties

The Level I Auditor is an entry level position that will audit maintenance records and verify they meet FAA and company procedure.

This entry level position reports to the Supervisor of Internal Compliance/CASS

  • Research aircraft records for compliance of required maintenance

  • Focused review of records for maintenance performed to assure proper recording

  • Review major repairs and alterations perform on the aircraft to assure accountability and proper recording

  • Review records from other Airlines aircraft records to assure required maintenance is performed prior to our accepting their aircraft

  • Summarize delays and cancelation of flights due to maintenance required on aircraft

  • Verify that calculations for aircraft weight and balance are accurate

  • Organize and retain audit reports for historical records

  • Verification of manuals for accuracy/currency (aircraft and personnel)

  • Interface with Safety to assure Employee certification and drug testing

  • Interface with Regulatory Compliance Manager for effectiveness of commitments made to the FAA

  • Verify that audit findings are corrected appropriately

  • Communicate with Maintenance Base and Line Stations

  • Communicate with Repair Stations, Fuelers and On Call Maintenance Providers

  • Provide administrative assistance for Quality Assurance/CASS Department

  • Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor of Internal Compliance/CASS

Minimum Requirements

  • Familiar with SkyWest Company Policies and Procedures

  • Auditing skills focusing on aircraft maintenance preferred but not required

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Typing skills

  • Data Entry

  • Ten Key

  • Eye for detail

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Organized

Physical and Other Requirements

  • Sitting for long periods of time
