SkyWest Airlines Spcl. Aircraft Operations Technology in ST. GEORGE, Utah
The Spcl. Aircraft Operations Technology position will report and provide support to the Manager Aircraft Operations – Technology. The selected individual will be primarily responsible for assisting with Safety Risk Management, Safety Assurance, and Safety Promotion/Communication during the implementation and revision of new systems and development of operational procedures. Maintains SMS competencies/training. References Flight Operations Safety Management System (SMS) manual SP 3000, Safety Management System (SMS) Manual SP 5000, and consults the Flight Operations Safety Department, as needed.
Primary Job Duties
Interface SkyWest aircraft configuration initiatives with industry working groups and government agencies. Predict, develop, coordinate, and standardize aircraft equipage and Next Generation operational requirements.
Provide aircraft Weight and Balance oversight during ACARS and EFB application software development. Validate system design expectations and regulatory compliance. Incorporate changes into the Weight and Balance Operations Manual SP 4100 and AeroData performance calculations.
Provide SRS technical design for MX engineering authorization approval. Conduct on-aircraft testing, design validation, and coordinate installation of ACARS AOC / AMI software for all fleet types. Coordinate ACARS User Guide procedures and assist with training curriculum changes.
Primary point of contact with ARINC for network reliability. Coordinates upgrades and system performance irregularities with SkyWest and ARINC.
Working group representative to assess new and used aircraft equipage requirements, re-configurations, automation upgrades and installations, weight and balance engineering configuration, and LOPA designs. Coordinate changes to new and existing FAA approved operational programs and procedures.
Conduct aircraft navigational database audits and validation. Investigate anomalies, and provide resolution for FMS navigation routing changes. Maintain currency of supplemental Company routes contained within each FMS database.
Support and develop the EFB program. Maintain EFB support equipment: Wi-Fi hot spots, aircraft EFB mounts, spares program, and future design requirements.
Maintain FAA-approved automated cargo weight and balance procedures. Coordinate changes to new and existing technology and procedures implementation.
Validate, maintain, and provide oversight of EFB software applications. Interface applications with connectivity portals.
Must be a pilot with at minimum a Commercial w/Instrument or ATP Pilot Certificate with familiarity of Rockwell Collins and Honeywell FMS systems, SkyWest aircraft preferred.
Must possess an in depth understanding of aviation instrument procedures with the ability to review NAV data against FAA technical specifications.
Possess skills working with aircraft Weight & Balance data, utilizing LOPA information to complete configuration specifications used in Weight & Balance computations.
Possess skills to methodically design and implement test scripts utilized for validation testing of ACARS and EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) software applications.
